“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” ~ Paul Coehlo
What does grief mean to you? Do you believe it only occurs when someone you love dies? What if I told you, grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss and is the conflicting feelings caused by the end of or change in a familiar pattern of behavior. Grief can result from many losses, such as; death, moving, relationships, divorce, infertility, menopause, heath, financial, identity, safety/trust, graduation, empty nest, kindergarten, births, and so much more.
Although we want to believe we have the tools to heal, by way of thinking and doing our way around the pain grief creates, they are only temporary and in no time the heaviness returns. These avoidant behaviors look like; eating, drinking, smoking, working, shopping, sex, exercise, cleaning/organizing, and so much more.
You may be thinking, “Yes, this is me, what do I need to do to finally let this heavy load down, so I can move forward happy, healthy, and feeling lighter and more love?” I am a certified Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist and would love to teach you the evidence-based Grief Recovery Method® program.
